We spent an awesome afternoon in Gloucester with this beautiful couple! The lighting was perfect, their outfits were wonderfully coordinated, and we even stopped off at their beautiful venue for a dark & stormy. I don't know about you but that is our kind of summer Saturday.
We are a bit backlogged on our blogging! Kelly & Tim got married last summer in a beautiful Cape Cod wedding. We spent a really fun day getting to know their family, friends, and especially Kelly's beloved dog. Who as you can was not thrilled to be seeing her off to another man. This fun loving couple got married on a golf course and their wedding day was filled with special touches that represent who they are as a couple. We have had the pleasure of seeing Kelly & Tim since their wedding day and they are as deeply happy now as they were then!
I have been friends with Maia since the 8th grade. We were inseparable during one of the most difficult times in many people's lives, high school. We spent lunch hour in the bathroom giving each other pep talks and redoing our hair. We dated best friends which kept us pretty much attached at the hip. And even after high school when our lives took us to different parts of the country and the world, we remained a rock for the other to lean on.
We ended up getting married in the same summer and I felt truly special to be part of her wedding. Dave and I made the 12 hour drive from Boston to Prince Edward Island, where we spent 3 amazing nights on a truly magical island. PEI is a place that instantly tugs at your soul. It is a place that is integral to Maia & Philip's love story. And their wedding weekend felt like they were letting the rest of us in on their secret. I am so beyond happy for these two. They are true soul mates and I feel so lucky to consider them both among our closest friends.
Nicole reached out to us at a hectic time in our lives (a mere 3 weeks ago). Krista was away on a job in LA. I had just wrapped a project in Connecticut and was back in Boston prepping for our move to the South End. Nicole emailed on a Monday telling us of her upcoming elopement with Rodney at Boston City Hall. She told us that they were ecstatically eloping on Friday. And that it would be incredibly intimate. She hoped that we could photograph the day, even on such short notice.
We were moving on Saturday. There was still packing to do. But f**k it! I was in.
I spent the afternoon with Nicole, Rodney, and some of their closest family and friends. This couple is beautiful inside and out and by the end of the shoot I felt truly honored to be a part of their intimate wedding day. We spent time wandering through some of their (and my) favorite Boston neighborhoods, stopping along the way to take in the surroundings and a few (a lot of) photos. I couldn't be happier for these two as they start their life together.
One of our favorite parts about being photographers is experiencing a new place through the lens of our cameras. Lauren & Steve's engagement shoot was no exception. They suggested Rockport, an adorable little seaside town less than an hour from our apartment in Boston. And we had never been! After our awesome afternoon we will definitely be back.
Not only was the town filled with great character and charm, not to mention out-of-this-world lobster rolls and taffy, but Lauren & Steve were such great sports. Whatever we suggested they were down. Everything from making their way over all of those slippery rocks to a classic cheers with their ice cream cones. We had a great time getting to know these two. Steve brought along his guitar and we were fortunate enough to get front row seats to the show. Lauren brought her great sense of style. Her adorable elephant clutch was too cute, and I just loved those blue & white striped wedges!
We are really excited for their October wedding!
